started the swim way to fast and got winded about half way in, had to stop 3 times to catch my breath but finished in a good time

I really need to pace and not start out to fast and finish strong

slow swim so not cramped in the calfs out of water

cramped right out of transition really bad and had to stop and get cramps out. about a mile in got side cramps really bad and had to walk a few to catch my breath.
What would you do differently?:

slow downand hydrate more, this was a very slow run for me and was not happy. it comes from poor preparation and not doing things right.

Warm down:

breakfast and beer WOW they go good together and stretch

What limited your ability to perform faster:

hydrating not good and swim was not good breathing so set a bad day over all

Event comments:

loved the support and the course I cant wait to do it again
