Pre-race routine:

This event was unusual in that it started at 6:00pm. I left work at noon and had lunch. At 2:30 I left drive to the state park where the event was held.

Since this was my first event I thought it went pretty well.
What would you do differently?:

Stay closer to the markers so I don't swim so much extra yardage. Drink less lake water!

Had some concerns about dealing with traffic (both bike and auto) on the course. I actually coasted down some of the hills to create more space between me and Mr blue jersey.
What would you do differently?:

Pass Mr. blue jersey at the start instead of following him for so long.

Frist 2 miles went well. On the 3rd mile I got a side stitch that just wouldn't quit so I ended up walking for a bit.

Drink more and maybe have a Gu.

Warm down:

Walked around to try to find my bike computer which I lost in T1. No luck there.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I probably should have tried to eat something around 4:30 to beter fuel the effort.

Event comments:

This was my first tri and I think it was awesome. I gave some average ratings just because I have nothing else to compare it to.
