Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5am, ate a bowl of granola, piece of toast with PB,cup of coffee. Drove to race site,walked around with my wife showing her some of the IMWI spots to be in a few weeks. Picked up my packet, went to pre-race meeting.

Comments:

This was a practice for IMWI. I am very happy with my results! I was expecting to go 1:45 so I was shocked to see my time when I finally came out of the water. I got run over, feet grabbed and more than a few tried to squeeze me out of my line, but I held my line for the most part. I focused on full strokes and kicked hard and passed about 4-5 swimmers including someone in my ag that got 4th!
What would you do differently?:

Push harder. I think I could have taken the number 2 spot. And stayed around to collect my hardware! :(

Got out, stood around talking to Steve, Dave, Matt, Tony, Linda, Lisa, Neil, and Ben.

Training.

Shoot, I may do this again just to see how fast I can do it!
