Run
Comments: Thought I went out too fast. Calmed down and settled in to a nice pace. Started passing people. Enjoyed the first run. Felt weird doing a mass start. What would you do differently?: Trail shoes. Trails were slick Transition 1
Comments: Good transition. 2nd in AG. It was just putting helmet, glasses on and running with bike. What would you do differently?: Not much Bike
Comments: The Specialized Rockhopper with full off-road tires was a factor. Cross bikes were the hot set-up. Caught up to a group of about six people going in to the singletrack. No passing. Slowed way down. Never really got up to a good race speed. Don't know if the toe clips helped or hurt. What would you do differently?: Crossbike or rigid 29er with cross tires Transition 2
Comments: Peeled off gloves and long sleeve jersey for the run. Good decision. Run
Comments: Wasn't looking forward to the second run. This being my first duathlon. The hills hurt. I was able to get in to a good pace. Passed a few folks. Was surprised my pace was as fast as it was. Scary part on the course was a guy down. a group of people were around him giving him CPR. Still don't know how he is. What would you do differently?: Be ten ponds lighter Post race
Warm down: yoga/stretching. Drank some Recoverite. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hate to blame the bike, but it was a disadvantage. Event comments: It was a fun and challenging race. The volunteers were great. Lots of cowbells. Last updated: 2010-10-03 12:00 AM
