Pre-race routine:

Got to transition shortly after it opened. Set up my gear then, walked around to get familiar with the layout of transition. Ate a pb&j sandwich and a banana
Event warmup:

None, this was my first race and I was so nervous.
Swim
  • 16h 50m
  • 547 yards
  • 3h 04m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was my first ever open water swim. I stayed to the back of my wave so as not to be in the way of the faster swimmers. I had a very hard time sighting and dealing with the waves.
What would you do differently?:

Defiantly work on being more comfortable in open water. I also need to work on sighting so I stay on course
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Since it was raining I walked my bike out of transition instead of trying to run in my cycling shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Just try and get my time faster
Bike
  • 52h 43m
  • 12 miles
  • 0.23 mile/hr
Comments:

This was my first time biking with other cyclists around. It was also my first time in the rain. I probably could have pushed harder, but was nervous.
What would you do differently?:

Know the course better, I almost missed doing my second lap since I got in the wrong lane.
Transition 2
  • 05m 28s
Comments:

I again walked my bike back in since I did not want to slip and fall trying to run in my cycling shoes. I wear vibrams to run so it took me a little longer to get them on since they were wet.
What would you do differently?:

Practice transitions more so I can do it faster.
Run
  • 00m
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10h 38m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

The run is my strongest event, I am pleased with my time. I felt I finished strong, and really enjoyed it
What would you do differently?:

Nothing for the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around to find my family

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inexperience, it was my first tri, and I was just taking it all in.

Event comments:

The race was well organized, and the volunteers were fantastic.
