My first OWS and wave start. I was totally different than I expected.
What would you do differently?:

Spent a week doing OWS in the ocean, just getting comfortable with any condition thrown my way.

The soft sand run into T1 is what slowed folks down.
What would you do differently?:

I learned to take a few seconds and settle down if things aren't going well and enjoy the course.

Slow down a little if the pace is too hard and drink more on the bike prior to the run. The humidity was high.

Went out too hard on the bike which zapped my energy for the run. This is a worse pace than a easy training day.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more and consume a gel on the bike if the energy feels like its slipping.

I would do this again to practice the OWS...it was an easier race because it was flat.
