  • 01m 45s / 100 meters
Comments:

started in front and stayed in front...first 25 really hammered it to get good position and then settled into good pace to stay in front
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

Good T1...suit caught up on my chip..this timing company was so about having your chip outside the wetsuit which really doesnt matter..all my races ive done ive had my chip under wetsuit and it read fine...i did what they said and it got hung up...my T2 time didnt register so go figure..i wonder how much of our entry fee go's to the lowest bidding timing company??
What would you do differently?:

Put my chip under my wetsuit..their chips only work half the time anyway
Bike
  • 46m 11s
  • 16 miles
  • 20.79 mile/hr
Comments:

I knew i was in the top 3 out of the water so i just wanted to hold off the charge as much as possible..i was passed by one guy from my age group at about mile 10 so i knew i needed to catch him on the run to be sure i stayed top 3..i let him go and stayed at my same speed because i had the confidence in my run..
Transition 2
  • 00m 54s
Comments:

I had my garmin set up for multisport timing which included transitions...i was within +or- 10 sec on all the other legs...the chip didnt read so im glad i chose to wear my garmin...
Run
  • 20m 24s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

Run felt good..kept the guy in sight that passed me on the bike thru most of the run and made my move with 1/2 mile left..was able to secure 2nd overall in my age group....
Post race
Warm down:

Not much...jennifer was just a few min behind me so i waited for her to cross..drank a few beers and waited for award ceremony...

Event comments:

Races are soley based on time...i wish these chip timing companies would invest in better equipment as much as we invest our time at getting ready for these races..
...i know im beating this dead horse to death when it comes to timing..its happened to me numerous times and it really sux to work hard and have the times jacked up like they are....
