Swim
Comments: Went a little to hard on this. Much harder than 1st Olympic last July. The toll it takes on my HR is not worth what is lost for later in the race. What would you do differently?: Longer and easier. Transition 1
Comments: Didn't try to put feet into shoes until Raytown Road. Mount line was very busy and some guys falling down so the "jump on bike" was fairly slow. Bike
Comments: At mile 12 I hit a pothole in the middle of the road and front tire went flat. Walked bike to transition and did the run. Bike fitness is nowhere near where it was last year training with SPAR-TASIC!!! What would you do differently?: NOT HIT A POTHOLE...DUH Transition 2
Run
Comments: This is still not even close to being fast enough considering I had plenty of time to walk my bike after the flat, and then ask if I could still run the course. What would you do differently?: I need some serious bike and run training if I am going to compete at the front (which is where I usually end up after the swim). Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: A flat tire (and not much training) Event comments: Best race in KC....biggest race I've done thus far....just didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Last updated: 2012-02-25 12:00 AM
