Swim
Comments: After about the first 1oo yards, i had pretty smooth path/ I could site really well, the orange bouys and yellow turn bouys were easy to follow. On the out leg, the sun was coming up on my left, which made breathing to that side uncomfortable because I was blinded. No probs. The water was flat and I had no problems until the slower swimmers from the previous wave started falling back. What would you do differently?: Nothing, it was a good trip Transition 1
Comments: Had difficulty getting wetsuit off even with strippers. Bike
Comments: My stomach was hurting on the bike so I was afraid to push the pace. I picked up the cadance on downhills and spun the climbs. I was afraid to eat with my upset stomach. What would you do differently?: Under the circumstances nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Jumping off the bike with barefeet I had to run over a section of gravel. This would hurt later on the run. What would you do differently?: should have kept my bike shoes on. Run
Comments: The first loop I plugged along. After the first loop my legs came around and I felt better, but it was getting hot. I walked briefly at the aid stations to get gatorade down. Was strong until the end. Bottom of my feet hurt from the grevel in T2 What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
Warm down: hamburgers and fries at Team Z tent What limited your ability to perform faster: Good effort. Upset stomach on Thurs, Fri prior to race was a factor. Pleased with results. Bettered my last Kinetic time which was in 2010 by 15 minutes, but should have been more. Event comments: Set Up events does a good job and is vry organized. Volunteers were great. this was my third Kinetic Half and I will probably be back next year. This is a great early season race. Last updated: 2012-04-12 12:00 AM

I had a queasy stomach the last couple of days before the race, so I was a little scared that I may not be able to eat during the race. I had Infinite and gels and hoped that would do.
Got up at 3 am left the house at 4am and arrived at race site about 5:30 for the long wait at packet pick up.
