Pre-race routine:

Had to get there early to try and help out a little. The day before i helped with the Kids Triathlon and they said they would be ok if i didnt volunteer. So i ended up sleeping a bit longer than normal. I got there at 6am and it was just starting to get busy.
My bike computer was not working again so tried to fix it but no luck.
Event warmup:

Ran back and forth a few times and got in the lake.
Swim
  • 05m 47s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not too bad. I think it takes along time to get used to Triathlon Swims. I sighted well even though the sun was in my eyes. I started at the back. By the time i was swimming i came up behind 3 guys all in a row. Normally i would just hang back but this time i pushed through them without hitting them. I did feel when i was going to hard and backed off a little.
What would you do differently?:

No much. I didn't train much for this swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 44s
Comments:

Better. My suit didnt get stuck on my ankles this time i think because i put glide on them. Remeber that! Got up to speed with feet on top of shoes, let them dry well before slipping them in.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Maybe helmet on while stepping out shoes
Bike
  • 52m 15s
  • 16 miles
  • 18.37 mile/hr
Comments:

No computer! So didnt really know how fast i was going. I cant tell if this was an advantage or not
What would you do differently?:

Again, maybe a few race pace rides.
Transition 2
  • 00m 44s
Comments:

I opted to put on socks this time which i thought would really slow up my T2 but it really didnt. Placing my bike on the outside rack really helped.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 27m 38s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

Third out of 7. This was actually my strongist part. Weird! Wow imagaine how fast i could run at 200 pounds! Hopefully next year we will se e this!
What would you do differently?:

MAybe wear some wrist band to wipe sweat as i sweat so much!
Post race
Warm down:

Showwed in the YMCA, went in the Hot Tub for a little while. Hang out with my good friend Pat!

Event comments:

I really like this one as it is so local and i dont feel rushed to get home or get there early. See you next Year!!
