Pre-race routine:

Got up later than I had wanted too. Alarm has been shut off due to being on vacation. Still plenty of time to have coffee and eat a bagel. I should have been out the door sooner, but I have serious time management issues lately. Got to race location, but had to jog about a 1/2 mile to race start. Met up with my tri group and didnt have time to go to the potty.
Event warmup:

1/2 mile jog to the start sufficed for a warmup. Did some light stretching. Wondered why there were no portolets. I needed to go.

Comments:

This was not a good run for me. I should have come in under 26 minutes. Had every opportunity to do so. But not getting to the race with enough time to locate bathrooms and relieve myself of the coffee I had in the not distant enough past was a real problem. I ended up having to walk twice for a few seconds which surely cost me the sub 26 time and new PR.
What would you do differently?:

Get up earlier. Get breakfast earlier. Get to the race earlier.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank a bottle of water and cheered on fellow tri mates crossing the finish line. Didnt hang out as I had a swim workout to get to.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The fact that I had to pee through the whole race!

Event comments:

Another great race by Hartford Marathon Foundation.

Wore HRM for first time during a race. Quickly got into Zone 3. Then ended up too soon in Zone 4. Was terribly distracted by the fact that I really needed to tinkle.
Course: The course is a good one through Elizabeth Park and out into the surrounding neighborhood. A couple of minor hills.
