Comments:

Nice swim, good water up until the last 300 yards, then the water had a nasty lagoon taste. Couple of guys were battering me on the first leg, so I dropped back and let them bang into each other and enjoyed the draft and the view. Otherwise nothing remarkable.

Wetsuit strippers did their thing. Long run uphill, left calf started cramping as soon as I stood up, so I walked a bit.

How hard is it? From the athlete guide, "The challenging Ironman 70.3 race has long served as a tune-up for Ironman world champions Mirinda Carfrae and Craig Alexander one month out from the big day in Kona." Uh, yeah. Definitely a good course and venue. Ironman branded event, so you know they'll have all the accoutrements. Would consider doing a full IM there, but I would definitely need to train more (or at least more specifically).
