Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 0530 Got ready ate a banana, drank arginine and muscle fuel on way to event (620), ate banana about 7, took O2 gold at 0730 and ate VO2 max bar at 0745.

Swam a little to get feet, hands and face used to the temp

Comments:

The race started at 0800 so the sun was right in your eyes heading east, making it hard to spot the buoys.
What would you do differently?:

I would have gone out faster and try to maintain contact with the pack as long as I could instead of worrying about dying.
