Swim
Comments: First time with a wet suit and first time open water swim in ~ 20 years. Held back to let the crowd go and then followed .....started out way to fast as it was hard to gauge effort with WS. Turns out WS was a bit too small and constricted breathing What would you do differently?: Correct fitting WS, or go with no WS as the water temp was cold but not that cold. Stick to my pace and realize if I am going to fast Transition 1
Comments: mount line was on a hill and had to run up to the mount line. Long way from rack to time mat.......lot of traffic What would you do differently?: overall fairly happy with my transition, traffic and choke points killed me Bike
Comments: New bike for this year and first race with it.....love it!!! Was able to drop the hammer on flats and downhills confidence. Actually this was one of my best times compared with training rides. What would you do differently?: Would ride the course in a car of my bike if possible to mark hills and areas to gain time. Transition 2
Comments: Happy with time as I switched shoes and had to put on my patella band. Grabbed a water bottle on the way out What would you do differently?: get rid of water bottle Run
Comments: Really crappy time on run, hill really kicked my butt! What would you do differently?: Didn't train for run as much as I should have Post race
Warm down: water and walking to cool off. What limited your ability to perform faster: Got behind the power curve with the swim, but made up with the ride. Totally sucked on the run. Training for this race was spotty at best due to work and weather. Overall a good base line for me to start the season. Event comments: Great race for my first sprint. Will be back as the race was super fun and well organized. Volunteers were great, giving encouragement even later in the race. Although not a big fan of hills, I'll always have a spot on my calender for this race. Last updated: 2015-02-09 12:00 AM
