Pre-race routine:

Drove out to the outer banks on Friday evening. Did a short run on Saturday. The morning of the race I had a chocolate shakeology and got a ride to race about 15 minutes ahead of time

Comments:

Point to point race. First HM. Kept it slow and in control from the gun. Really focused on not going too fast. Started to pick up the pace at 4 and then again at 7 miles. Started pushing the last 3.1 miles. Although I ran the tangents I measured the course at 13.2 and my wife at 13.3.
What would you do differently?:

Could have pushed a little harder

Fun race, well supported, and great location. Swag inclused long sleeve shirt, cup, hat, and free food and beer after the race
