Swim
Comments: My time spent working on bilateral breathing helped since you could only breath to the left due to the waves. What would you do differently?: Not get behind the walkers Transition 1
Comments: Seemed like t1 took forever. Sat down in the mud to get suit off and shoes on. Felt like I had enough time to order coffee. What would you do differently?: Just go faster. For some reason I was not rushed. Bike
Comments: Going up the big hill in my smallest gear I looked down and saw 4 MPH on the computer. going down the big hill I saw 45 MPH and was still gaining speed. I quit looking down and made sure I stayed on the road. Road was wet with many turns that decreased ave speed. What would you do differently?: Train on hills. My training has been all flat this year. This makes for great training time, but poor performance in real life. Lesson learned Transition 2
Comments: Much faster than T1- I think I started to care about my time at this point What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Kept it slow and easy for the first 1.25 miles then opened it up a little. Had to make a slight detour to unhydrate and then back on the course. Kicked way to early, but had way too much left in me. this means I did not push myself enough on the course. Had a racer try to pass me in the last 50 yards. As he passed mI yelled "hell NO" and sprinted with him. We crossed the line at exactly the same time, stopped, and high-fived each other. What would you do differently?: train harder Post race
Warm down: Food and watched the others finish. Tore down the wet tent and drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: my parents Event comments: This was a great course to end my first year of doing tris. I would have never finished this coures in May, but had no problem today. It makes me realize just how much work I have to do in the next 350ish days for IMMOO. Overall it has been a great year: Great races, met great people, and had lots of fun. Last updated: 2006-08-28 12:00 AM

Arrived Saturday afternoon and set up camp in the park. The lantern fell off the table and broke, which was not a good sign of things to come. Met two women camping a few sites down and asked if they had a map of the bike course. They did so I drove it. OMG, I was expecting hills, but these were monsters. The little voice in my head- the one I have been fighting all year- kept saying I would never make it up the hills. The voice and I fought as I tried to sleep. Between the voice and the wind, it was very difficult to fall asleep.
The owl in the tree above my tent decided that 0400 was a great time to start hooting. I am now fully infavor of a limited owl hunt in Wisconsin.
Up at 0400, since the lantern was broken I decided to make the trip to the beach and hope for light. At 0500 the lightning and rain started. Back in the car for a while until it blew over. Not much going on untill 0600 when packet pick up and body marking began. Walked around, set up transition and chatted with a few racers.
