Swim
  • 24m 20s
  • 1094 yards
  • 02m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

Decided not to wear a wetsuit for this reace. The water was warm so it wasn't that bad. I could definitely feel the difference from when I wore a suit in my last race. Started off to the right to cut down the angle to the course. I felt strong throughout the swim. I did stray off course twice as I was right behind someone and when I looked up I was way off course. I thought I was doing a good job of sighting but I guess not.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe wear a wetsuit. Do a better job of sighting.
Transition 1
  • 03m 25s
Comments:

Long run from the water to the transition area. I had everything laid out. Just need to get a little faster.
What would you do differently?:

Practice transitions.
Bike
  • 34m 25s
  • 9.32 miles
  • 16.25 mile/hr
Comments:

I had ridden the course the previous week so i knew what to expect. Moore's Hill was tough. I got passed by a few guys in my age group during the bike. The pace is the same that I have had during my training rides.
What would you do differently?:

I need to put more time in on the bike. My lack of training with hills hurt me a little bit. I purchased pedals and shoes which should arrive today.
Transition 2
  • 01m 9s
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 22m 22s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

I had never done the run course so I didn't know what to expect. I passed a few guys that passed me on the bike. I brought along a smalll water bottle that I carried which helped. I am happy with my run time. When I looked at the results I see that a couple of guys in my age group finised just ahead of me one guy edged by me at the finish line. That will not happen next time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around had some water a bagel, a bannana and iced tea. Debated getting a massage but didn't want to wait on line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of hill training on the bike.

Event comments:

Great race super organized. They offered traing sessions before the race. This will be on my calendar every year.
