HA! Raked my bike, got numbered put my wetsuit on the went to the swim start. No time for anything else. Forgot a towel for T. What a way to start my 1st 1/2.
Swim
  • 41m 25s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
Comments:

Thought my swim went well for me. Was nervous about the distance seeing this was the first time I swam that distance anywhere never the less the ocean.
Think that my time would have better if I could spot better.
What would you do differently?:

need to learn spotting and keep working on my technique

Transition 1
  • 03m 35s
Comments:

T1 was tough having to get stuff out of my bag, with getting there late I had no time to set up T
What would you do differently?:

Just hope to get there earlier so that T area is all set after the swim
Bike
  • 3h 23m 54s
  • 56 miles
  • 16.48 mile/hr
Comments:

would have liked to have done the bike section a little faster. May have been in the back on my mind to save for the run
What would you do differently?:

Train more on technique and gears. I have allot to learn about gears and cadence.
Transition 2

Comments:

felt ok in T2
Run
  • 3h 04m 12s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 14m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

Know need for comments just couldn't get my legs to run. Thanks Don, Michelle (186) and everyone that helped me get though the run.
What would you do differently?:

need more run training
Post race
Warm down:

stretched and almost let go emotional when I saw my kids at the finish line. This being the first race that they were at.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of hard training. I did mostly just timed work-outs and not allot of speed or strength.

Event comments:

Thanks to all the great Volunteers that helped to get us back of the backer into the finish. They did a great job.
