Comments:

Where do I begin? The first 10K was very slow moving, probably good since I'm nuts and would've gone too fast. I didn't feel sick until about mile 18, that was the first throw up of the day, which was right before the end of my first 12.5 mile loop. Saw Andrew, Aaron, and Chris. I was obviously looking like shit, and they weren't afraid to tell me. I couldn't keep anything down. Saw Trix and Jess on the way back out, and they saw me looking like shit. UH. Just tried to keep going. Started walking at about 21, and did the 'ironman shuffle' for about 3 miles until my gut relieved itself into the bushes for a second time. After throwing up, I felt much better, and kept running. At about 27 I just couldn't take it anymore. I had since gotten sick 2 more times, and was slowed down to a slow 'hike' pace. I just wanted to get to the end. I got sick one last time about .25 miles from the end, which was a good thing since it at least allowed me to run to the finish line. There is no worse feeling than having lots of energy in your legs, but not being able to utilize it. Regardless of all things that did go wrong, I have to look at the bright side and be okay with it. I didn't fall, I didn't get injured, and I didn't quit. I still had fun, and met some great new people :)
What would you do differently?:

Get nutritional advice from a professional. I've already contacted a pro to do some metabolic/expenditure testing. Probably need to eat more on a daily basis. I was insufficient in using race nutrition in my training workouts, therefore, my gels/water/anything else I put in my body came right back up since my stomach wasn't used to it.
Post race
Warm down:

Tried to drink. Bad idea. Threw up in Big Red's car (in a bag) on the way home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

oh so many things!

Event comments:

I will surely be back to claim an age group win! With drink in hand and food IN my stomach!! Congratulations to everyone out there. Thanks to Andrew, Aaron, and Chris for being such awesome cheerleaders!
