Swim
  • 05m 45s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

Made sure I didn't start too hard. Got passed by 1 guy after 100. But I picked it up in the middle and hammered home. Fairly good swim, time was 5:45 getting out of the water.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I've built a pretty good base this winter. Now I just need to get in the pool 4,5,and 6 days a week to really see a difference. Time was an improvement from last year and it is 3 weeks earlier.
Transition 1
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

Couldn't get socks on so I scrapped that immediately. Wasted 3-4 seconds. Good transition, clipped in quickly and was out quicker than last year.
What would you do differently?:

Not try putting socks on.
Bike
  • 26m 39s

Comments:

Pretty good ride except for speed bumps every where and heavy head winds. Drank plenty maintained good cadence and felt comforable on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Buy a cervelo P2C!
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Comments:

Forgot my f*cking run race belt again, costed me 26 seconds! Had to run back and get it. Just like Pinehurst. Got to start remembering that. Would've finished 41st overall and 4th in age group if I didn't goof off in transition.

Run
  • 19m 34s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

Never felt comfortable after transition debacle. Dropped my inhaler at 1.4, had to stop and pick it up. Got a good cadence going by had to fight off a side stitch. Passed a guy puking, which made me feel better since it wasn't me hurling. Need to get accustomed to racing flats. No socks=bloody toe.
What would you do differently?:

Do some speed work with racing flats before MAP. Put some socks on. Not drop my inhaler, not forget my race belt. Run 17:45 again.
Post race
Warm down:

Biked for 10 minutes. Drank as much as possible.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Transition goofs

Event comments:

2:40 quicker than last year! Not bad for 3 weeks earlier in the season.
