Comments: I started out fourth in my lane. After about four laps, I had passed two of the others. AFter that, I tried to pass the last guy, but he would not let me pass. This was a bummer, because it bunched up the whole lane. Finally I managed to persuade him to let me pass. (Don't ask me how) What would you do differently?: Hmmm...I could say that I would have given my estimated time more accurately, but the people in my lane were actually a good fit for me. If I had been in a faster lane, I might have had the chance to draft and rest a little. Transition 1
Comments: Both T times are included in the bike portion. What would you do differently?: Nothing. For the weather I think the time I allowed in transition was necessary. Maybe I could have done the bike in shorts, but I think I would have been chilled. Bike
What would you do differently?: I might bike a little faster, if I was confident I would still have legs left for the run. See the note in the run section. Transition 2
Comments: Well, I've seen it quoted here many times..."There are two types of cyclists: those who have crashed, and those who will." Okay, so it wasn't a crash, it was a fall. I had unclipped my left foot, then I got the bright idea to unclip the right one, too. Bad idea! When I pedal around, my left foot clipped back in. When I pulled up to the dismount line, and reached my left foot down to stop, it was clipped in. Just a few bumps; nothing serious. What would you do differently?: I would remember not to vary anything I've practiced. I would not try to unclip both shoes. It wasn't necessary. Run
Comments: I have felt like somewhat of a failure since last year, having had to walk a large portion of each run I did. During this race, though, my main goal was to run the entire run, no matter how slowly. I did make an acception, figuring that if I ran "the hill" (aforementioned), it would cost me more time at the end of the race than if I walked it. So, I walked the hill, skipped down the other side, and finished my race running. What would you do differently?: Accept, as fact, that I have exercise induced asthma. Use the inhaler the doctor gave me. I had all kinds of energy left in my legs, but I had a hard time breathing at a higher pace. So, my run time stinks. Post race
Warm down: Should have stretched. Didn't. Calves are sore from "the hill". What limited your ability to perform faster: My run stinks. I still feel like a beginner, not sure of how much effort I should put forth in each leg. Event comments: This is a fun race. A little trouble with people not being pulled from the pool when they took too long, but the heats still started on time. Scenic bike and run portions. Last updated: 2008-04-07 12:00 AM

These numbers aren't going to make sense, as the female overall results are not shown with splits. Sooo, my overall rank of 91/182 is for women, but my swim/bike/run splits are shown including men and women. Swim 131/352 Bike 170/352 Run 291/352 My run stinks.
