Pre-race routine:

walk to swim start, light stretching, check goggles, breakfast was cereal and granola with more water.

Comments:

Got caught by the next waves near the swim finish. Just learned how to swim 6 weeks before race so felt ok about my performance. My endurance still needs lots of work, but I was comfortable in the water and could still focus on technique and making a good pull.
What would you do differently?:

Train harder and push during swim.

I am new to cycling and ride with clips. Had trouble getting into clips out of transition area just past mount line. Once in had a good start to the race. A training partner was just ahead out of transition but she took a spill on the bike and held me up for a second making sure she was ok. She finished race with no probs.

Event comments:

Awards ceremony took too long to get started. I left before it got started. Finish line should be more clearly marked for spectators. Almost hit a kid who ran out heading into T2, and volunteers were very apologetic. Nice folks who helped out alot. I felt very comfortable being my first triathlon.
