Run
Comments: I did better than I expected with not running the last 4 weeks and having a bad knee. I just prayed and prayed Saturday night that my knee would not hurt. Sunday arriving to the race was really cool to see so many people. I was in the first corral so it was great to start in front. I started in the back of everyone in the first corral and took it easy the first few miles just to settle in. Then I picked it up on the 4th mile and started running a little faster. I was feeling great and running with the guy holding a 1:35 PACE sign. That was my original goal before I injured my knee, so I though I would try to keep up with him. I was able to run with him for 9 miles, but then I just ran out of energy. The rest of the race was just a struggle to keep running. I had no more energy and a huge blister on the bottom of my right foot. I think I felt it pop at mile 11. So not it burned pretty good, but that was not holding me back at all. My legs just didn't have nothing left. The farthest I have ever ran in my life is only 10 miles and I only did that a couple times. So I guess I shouldn't be too suprised that I ran out of energy. I think my legs may have been tired from the mountain bike race the day before also. Anyways, I finished in 1:37:55 and 69th out of 1164 in my age group. What would you do differently?: I would not let my kneee get injured. Post race
Warm down: Walked real slow to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: My fitness. Event comments: This was an amazing race! Last updated: 2008-09-23 12:00 AM
