Felt pretty good, other swimmers in lane gave good seed times too since we never had issues with passing, or running into each other.

40 degrees so needed to gear up. Not sure what to do since this was my first race and first Transition. So shirt, vest, gloves, hand warmers. Overdid is a little
What would you do differently?:

Ditch the bike gloves, use handwarmers rubber banded to aerobars for future races that are cold

Long transition area so had to run a good distance from the dismount line. Legs felt like bricks. Quick T-2 for me, I thought. Overall happy for first try.

Could be a better/faster runner but unlike the bike, when you didn't see anyone, 3 laps had you always passing or being passed, which helped with the pacing.
What would you do differently?:

Interval training with hill repeats.

Excellent race, well organized. Which makes sense that the 320 slots fill up within 24 hours of the opening day.

Course: Couple of rollers but fairly flat course, just still cold. Fastest biker was 22.5 mph so mine at just under 20 I felt was a good speed. Plus since there was only 32 people per wave, the bike was really spread out, by about 3 miles, didn't really catch or get passed. Felt like out for a training ride, very little vehicle traffic.
