Pre-race routine:

Up early and commuted in with Slake, Vball and 3558. Again, hard to eat any food that early in the morning.
Event warmup:

None really. Started the race late as I was waiting in the porta-potty line AGAIN (just like last year).

Comments:

Well, I started late (ended up starting 14 minutes after the gun) in the second to last color wave. I was registered for a wave 3 ahead, and should have been 4 ahead ;) So I did my best in the first few miles to enjoy the warm-up and find my best line.. Zipped in and out of people, and saw Brad at mile 2. I tried to not get angry at walkers and other slower people, as I was the one in the wrong wave, not them ;).. Hit the 5k around 25 something and just kept my steadyish 8:15 pace even though I was doing lots of stops and starts to get around people and bottlenecks. Once on Hains point I was so happy. It was a beautiful day and sunny and I just smiled enjoying the race. It was around mile 7 and I still wasn't feeling out of breath or tired. After mile 7 I picked up the pace some (though didn't go any faster - my legs were starting to fatigue) and saw Slake, who started even later than me. Pushed through the last few miles and was proud how well I felt running up the last hill to the finish. Happy with a ~5.5 minute PR at a more comfortable pace than last year.
What would you do differently?:

1. Start on time
2. Not train through the race, last week was a very hard training week for me.
3. Start on time
4. Start on time
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to the meeting point and enjoyed the sun!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

See above.

Event comments:

I love the Cherry Blossom 10 miler. A great way to start the spring season!
