Event warmup:

A little swim to get used to the water
Swim
  • 35m 54s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 23s / 100 meters
Comments:

I did not enjoy the swim one bit. Was dropped from a pack about halfway through the second lap. I just felt myself fighting myself. i just couldn't relax. I think maybe I was alittle stressed out for reasons I don't know right now. I am sure I will figure it out over the next couple of days. The one good thing that did come out of the swim for me was I had know cramping and I made it to T-1.
Transition 1
  • 02m 15s
Comments:

The transition was good except for I just couldn't get my wet suit off my left heel and I had just a little cramping, other than that, it went very well
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I thought I was pretty quick getting out and onto the road.
Bike
  • 1h 19m 58s
  • 44 kms
  • 33.01 km/hr
Comments:

I felt so good on the bike today. The new arrowbars made a huge difference as well as the new shoes, my feet were very comfortable. I felt very relaxed as I just forgot about the swim from hell. I thought the course was quite challenging. I definately had alot of fun on the ride. lots of water and my two gels did their job. I didn't enjoy the road at all, it was very, very, very, very rough, you really had to pay attention to where you were riding.
What would you do differently?:

I don't know if I would change anything just yet, other than more time on the bike training.
Transition 2
  • 01m 9s
Comments:

T-2 went very well, I had a little cramping when I was getting my right shoe on. Other than that I can't believe how quick I was.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I don't know if I could change anything it went very good.
Run
  • 45m 4s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 31s  min/km
Comments:

The run wasn't too bad. I had one gel and took water in at all the aid stations. My pace started slow and I slowly picked it up as I ran further. I had to cups of water at the first aid station which probably saved my bacon. I started to tighten up and if I hadn't had the water I would have just suffered on the run. My right hamstring tightened up at about 4.5k, I stopped and did a quick touch of the toes and it went away. My pace really started to pick up from that point on. My lower back was little tight but, I just tried to run through it. I never really had the thought of my groin muscle getting hurt at all, that was a very good mental thing for me. The run was very hot.
What would you do differently?:

I definately need to do more running, my run fitness is not where I believe it should be.
Post race
Warm down:

lots of food and water/gatorade

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training

Event comments:

I know I need to do more training, I have not done enough. I definately need to swim more than anything right now. I know I can ride and run well.

The day weather wise could not have been any better.
