  • Comments: Jockstrapping points to Luke who drove all over The woodlands trying to find me when I flatted and then was not mad when I had made it to transition and started the run while he was out looking for me! (I did call him to tell him that I was running so that he was not worried.) Also, I found out after the race that I could have waited and someone would have picked me up and taken me back to transition where they could have repaired my flat and sent me back out on my way. I am pretty glad I just walked back- I think in the end that was faster eventhough it gave me my first DNF. Race review- 5ooM swim; 6 mile ride; 1.25 mile Hike-a-bike; 5K run= Total time ~1:45 I think.

  • Comments: This was a nice, relatively laid-back race. I generally had a good time, except for my poor swim performance. The volunteers were numerous and great motivators...there seemed to be someone every few feet on the run which was nice.

  • Comments: I had a good time. I still am thinking "What in the name of God, am I thinking" but I am VERY proud of my accomplishment and performance. As Cesar said, I woke up this morning a women, but I'm going to bed tonight a Triathlete! He's proud of me. Alyssa even said "Mama, Congraulations on being a triathlete" as I tucked her into bed. Thomas said he's going to write about it in his journal at school Monday! It's been a good day!

  • Comments: This race was very organized. Will definately do this one again. I was amazed at how many people never completed the race, 180 out of 850. I feel much better knowing that I simply completed the race!

  • Comments: The long walk was a pain because it was so muddy, but they can't control the weather. Also I heard there were some nasty spills at the bike dismount area... some injured folks out there. Mayb more volunteer letting us know the end is near... it did kind of sneak up on us because it was right after a turn.
