  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?Yes

  • Post race activities? Good
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: Another awesome race by SetupEvents. Shaved over 6 minutes off last year's race, most on the swim (almost 5 min.). With swim technique work and being more careful drinking the bike, my times keep getting better. Culpeper was my first tri 2 yrs. ago and it's still my favorite.

  • Comments: The Setup people were really great in getting me into this one. Super appreciative and enjoyed a very well organized race. Will probably be doing this one every year... maybe I'll learn to love the run here.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: I would have liked the cold drinks at the finish line. In my post-race haze, I couldn't find them. Swim is fine if you don't mind the vegetation; bike is nice and rolling and beautiful; run is HARD. A nice little race.

  • Comments: As always well organized. Saw lots of people really hustling behind the scenes. It was noticed and appreciated.

  • Comments: I didn't have high hopes for this race. My prep for it was horrendous and I did just about everything you should NOT do pre-race. I was a mental wreck, hadn't eaten, and hadn't slept well for the last couple days. I got to the race site around 8:15 pm and drove the bike course. I saw most of it before it got dark which was good. But, I hadn't really eaten much that day due to travel and angst. Mom and I found a grocery store to pick up dinner and breakfast. Dinner was chicken salad & pasta salad at 10:15 pm. I went to bed at 11 pm but didn't sleep well (for the 3rd night in a row). Breakfast was at 5 am - bagel with 3/4ths of a cup of greek yogurt with blueberries, chocolate milk, and a small cup of coffee. I also ate a banana around 6:45 am. I was fairly lethargic and ambivalent about the race. Fortunately, I had done a good job packing my gear and got set up fairly quickly. I kept things to a minimum to make transition easier. Did I mention that I hate my bike???
