  • Comments: Great race - very well organized, supports a great cause and had some activities for spectators, too. Organizers adjusted well to some changes due to weather - the area transition was supposed to be in turned in to a marsh due to the heavy rain we've had the last few weeks. Volunteers staffed every turn and every area on the bike that needed some extra caution. Bike course is fantastic - besides the initial road at transition, the roads are smooth, its beautiful and the climbs make it a challenge. The addition of the elite wave was nice - gives the really good people a way to directly compete against themselves, and increases the chances of regular age groupers like me getting some hardware :-) Definitely a great way to start the season, and I hope I can fit it into my schedule next year.

  • Comments: Again, Chris put on a top-notch event. I felt the race was very organized and well run. The volunteers were super, very vocal when giving instructions and also were great at shouting support. Thanks to the state police for their efforts as well. The race grows each year and is truly one of the best races in the area. Competitive field yet balanced with many abilities. And this year there were more vendors and more things for the spectators to do while waiting for their racers. 494/594 overall 131/193 females 27/36 AG 7/16 Athena (which is the group I was registered in)

  • Comments: Friendly crowd, friendly competitors, many parents sneaking out to race and head back to kids sports events for the afternoon. You could hear a pin drop (plus the birds singing in the woods) during the national anthem. Since this race supports the IM ABLE foundation for veterans, a heart warming start to the race. Additionally they had a spin class for spectators during the race, along with hand cranks for the physically challenged. Great way to start the season.
