  • Comments: Plenty of fans and support crew throughout race. My favorite fan sign was a well dressed woman in Georgetown with handpainted sign that said, "We won't judge if you crap yourself." Paddy stayed with me despite the ability to go faster. I kept urging him to leave me back, but he wouldn't.

  • Comments: MCM is a terrific event. The changes to the course have made it more challenging, but they are for the best. The hills early on are tough, and definitely affect you later in the race, but moving Hains Point to the middle of the race is a significant improvement. This is a big race and draws lots of people. As a result, it gets crowded, particularly in the early miles, and again at the finish. Know this going in, and you won't be surprised or upset come race day. However, the support of the Marine Corps and the chance to thank those who protect and defend us every day make this a must-do experience for anyone who loves the marathon. They bill this event as the Peoples Marathon, and I think it is an appropriate title. I'll be back again.

  • Comments: Very good race with lots of crowd support. My only complaints were that there was not enough food along the way and that it is very crowded at the Rosslyn metro station at the end. I don't think there's any way around the Metro being crowded, though.

  • Comments: Awesome race- this was my third time.. the Marines are terrific and really make this a special event. It did seem like the aid stations were pretty far apart at some points- would have been nice to have just a couple more on the course.

  • Comments: Considering the crowd, this seemed to be a well run event. I don't see any solution to the masses at the end, since it wouldn't really be the same to finish anywhere other than at the Marine Corps Memorial.

  • Comments: Getting through the finishers area and to meet up with anyone was a big pain with that many people! But other than that, they actually did a fairly good job getting everyone to and from, through the registration and expo, aid station stocking, etc.

  • Comments: The Marines have a top notch race with plenty of good scenery along the way. It is called the Peoples Race for a reason. The spectator and volunteer support is amazing. Most of the runners in this race are having fun and it makes for a great atmosphere for a marathon. A must do race for any marathoner or aspiring marathoner.

  • Comments: The organization at this race was very good. There were plenty of drink stations and they were well stocked. The crowd support was amazing. The course was beautiful. The finishers area at the end was crowded, but I was still able to get my medal and picture fairly quickly. The only thing I didn't like was the line to get back on the Metro at the end. It was tough standing there for that long after running, but it was a smooth ride on the Orange line back to the New Carollton station. I'll definitely do this race again next year :)

  • Comments: Best marathon I've run (only one I've run). The water stations were fine, but it seemed like they had food stations after the water stations every time so you got your food (Gels and Sportbeans) and then had to wait a mile or more for water. Crowds were large and supportive.

  • Comments: I liked this course better than any other I have run. I was great to see all the sites. I was dissapointed with the aid stations. There were plenty of stations but I expected there to be more with Gels. There was one early on and one about mile 15 and Sport Beans at around 20. I didn't pick up any early on because I expected there to be more at each station. It probably said this in the guide but I missed it. I brought a bottle of Perpetum and 1 gel pack which helped carry me to the mid way gels. I was planning on not using anything but what is on course. Glad I brought it along. This is still a must do race. The Marines and other armed forces present along with the scenery were very moving and well worth it!!! AND I GOT TO SAY HEY TO SWEET CORN AND BUTCH CAN"T SWIM. We happened to run into each other early in the race. Very cool!
