Comments:

Horrible swim. Not cause I didn't feel good but because of all the freakin traffic. About 100m into it, I got stuck behind 2 slow guys and it was really tough trying to get around them. One was doing breast stroke already and his legs were flying everywhere. Lots of traffic around buoys as well. Finally got a good lane around 250m and felt great. Then about 350m I started coming up on all the slow women that started ahead of us. That was a mess trying to navigate through that. I can't believe the women started ahead of the guys in a sprint. Bad idea. Last 100m was a good clean line into the finish. Really tried to push it to make up for lost time.

Easily could have made top 5 overall if it wasn't for all this.
Transition 1
  • 00m 47s
Comments:

Good T1. Had just a little trouble getting my helmet on. Only delayed about 6-7seconds.
Bike
  • 31m 46s
  • 12 miles
  • 22.67 mile/hr
Comments:

Had an awesome bike. The disc worked out great. I usually hate riding disc, but today was different. Felt super fast and really pushed it today. I didn't get passed by anyone on the bike, so I knew I was doing pretty good. Had the fastest bike split in my age group. That was a first, so I was super happy about that.

Run

Comments:

Wasn't really feeling it at first. Was really hard to try and push myself at the beginning. Also I think it's because I did a pretty hard bike, harder than I usually go. I hit mile 1 and knew I wasn't on pace to go under 7:00min/miles. I hit the turnaround and knew I had to really start to turn it on. I was feeling better by then. I was definitely running under 7:00min/miles the last 1.5 miiles.
What would you do differently?:

Try to push myself just a tad bit more at the beginning.
Post race
Warm down:

Relax. Ate some salad, pita bread and hummus, couple of bite size bananas and bagels.

Event comments:

It took forever for them to do the awards. We were out there till almost noon waiting in the hot weather. They should have at least done the sprint awards around 10:30 or so. Also let the guys go first ahead of the girls.
