Event warmup:

150 yards in the pool
Swim
  • 06m 14s
  • 275 yards
  • 02m 16s / 100 yards
Comments:

Stroke rate was WAY too fast in the first 50. Settled in during the next 150. Around 175 I did flip over on back to get a breather. Short breathers (2-5 seconds) on each wall after about the first 75 or so. Stretch goal was 6:00 so I feel pretty good. With that said, this is clearly my weakness.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. Technique, Technique, Technique.
Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

10th out of 47 in T1 in my age group. Struggled a bit getting my left foot into my shoe once on the bike. No biggie. When possible, I should consider not putting on my race belt in T1 and just waiting to do it in T2 (as I'm running).
What would you do differently?:

Race belt in T2 instead of T1.
Bike
  • 46m 55s
  • 13 miles
  • 16.63 mile/hr
Comments:

Goal was 16mph and I beat that. Felt pretty good but I know I can get better here with more training.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. Aero bars.
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

4th out of 47 in T2. Just need to do each step a split second faster and run a little faster from dismount through run out.
What would you do differently?:

Put in race belt in T2 as I'm running out of transition.
Run
  • 24m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

Legs were heavy coming out of T2 but I really settled in around mile 1 - 1.5. Really pushed it the last half.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. Train more on bike and run.
Post race
Warm down:

Restroom and Hit the road.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. Swim and Bike need work.
