Pre-race routine:

Got to the race around 5:45 or so. Ate Banana and granola bar on the way. Set up Transition.
Event warmup:

Got in the water and swam for a couple minutes. Water Temp was fine.
Swim
  • 14m 43s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 40s / 100 yards
Comments:

4th Triathlon & finally felt somewhat comfortable & relaxed w/ the swim. Biggest issue is that I can't see. I need perscription goggles or eye surgery; one or the other. Need to rely on the pack for direction, because I am absolutely blind out there, which is a bit disorienting. When I get out of the swim, I need to find my wife so she can hand me by glasses so I can find my way back to transition, which also slows me down quite a bit.
What would you do differently?:

Need to be able to see. Also, I can push myself a bit harder here. I think I can knowck off a couple minutes pretty easy
Transition 1
  • 04m 10s
Comments:

Long run from Swim to Transition. I thought I did better this time than in previous races, but my Transition Time was still aweful. Need to figure this out.
What would you do differently?:

Get a Tri-Shirt that goes under my wetsuit so I don't have to dry off and put a shirt on. Hustle a bit more
Bike
  • 48m 4s
  • 15 miles
  • 18.72 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt better on my bike than previous races. Improved avg mph by 1, but still a lot of room for improvement.
What would you do differently?:

Need to train outside more instead of relying on the spinner.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

This is a guess. The Transition 2 Times were lumped in w/ the run.
Run
  • 25m 42s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

I am a slow runner, but I have improved my avg run time w/ every Tri and expect this to continue to improve as I train for a Marathon later this year. Hopefully that will make a 5K seem like a sprint. I would like to get my 5k time down to under 24 Min.
What would you do differently?:

Need to train on my transition from Bike to Run. My legs always feel like jelly for thie 1st 1/2 mile of the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out w/ Family

Event comments:

The race setup was great. Well organized and a great location. Will do next year for sure.
