It freaked me out to have all of these hands coming at me. So I did sidestroke for a while to keep going but not freak out.

Start in the back or side of the pack so I can get some room to swim

This is my first so it's hard to compare to others. They gave out mugs and xc ski passes and water bottles. I was hoping for medals or something. I have a 1 day xc ski pass to use now, but nothing to keep, except the shirt
