  • Comments: This is my first so it's hard to compare to others. They gave out mugs and xc ski passes and water bottles. I was hoping for medals or something. I have a 1 day xc ski pass to use now, but nothing to keep, except the shirt

  • Comments: This is a great race. It's got a distinctly Maine feel to it. Kinda like "Hey, let's all meet up in the field next to the lake and run a Tri!" There's not a commercial feel to it at all, it's a bunch of nice people racing against themselves. It's on my list for next year already.

  • Comments: Good race, no post race activities, which is fine by me. It is a very well organized race and I will do it again next year, and would recommend it to others.

  • Comments: Good race - I was psyched to place in my AG again, especially considering that the 1st place in our AG was one of the top 3 overall but they did not separate them out. Jeff held me off by 40 seconds - I was glad to hear him say that he had really hammered the bike since he makes it look so easy. This race is pretty well done. The setup is a little weird, with T1 and T2 in different places, but overall the logistics and organization are good, and I would do this one again in the future.

  • Comments: The trail run, though challenging, was fun and different. The bike course was surprisingly flat for a ski town with good roads and the lake was clean and pretty clear. It was a challenging sprint and one that I'll do again. Bringing home hardware was definitely nice as well.

  • Comments: Seemed like it was too long to wait for the award ceremony. HOwever, it was the first time I got an award at a triathlon so it might be normal! Race was at 8:00, awards around 12.

  • Comments: Even though I didn't meet all my goals for today, I had a great time. I was smiling all the way home, thinking about how far I've come in the past year. It was one year ago today (I remember because it was the day before my birthday) that I told my wife that I wanted to learn to run, and maybe even do a triathlon. I put on my crappy old sneakers, and went 4 miles, walking for a few minutes every mile, and covered the distance in almost 50 minutes. Today I finished my fourth tri and have done a marathon and multiple other running races. I'm planning on a 1/2 IM in August, a marathon in October, and I'm signed up for Ironman Lake Placid for next year. Life is good.
