Pre-race routine:

Arrive at site early, set up transition. Eat yogurt with Hammer Gel about an hour before race (a little later than I had planned) and then a Hammer Gel 15 minutes before swim start.

A bit disappointed that my speed wasn't faster but probably due to the wind and rough roads. Happy with my power - strongest that it's been. I was trying not to push it too hard.

Practice turns and cornering. Ride more.

Some stretching. Ate some really good barbecue sandwiches.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

General lack of training. Also may have been tired - not good sleep the night before

Event comments:

Great race - so well organized! Nice to be on a military base and have the support of the Marine Corps. Beautiful course.
