Pre-race routine:

no eating, and no drinking, did go potty though!
Event warmup:

no time to warm up, it was fricken cold so was wraped in a blanket until we stood in line for Kenny at the bathrooms, then had to jog to the start because the line was so long at the bathrooms!

Comments:

Felt good I drank between 5 and 6oz. of fluid. that was it no other nutrition! Felt pretty good except the lower back pain and my previous groin pain that was numb for most of the race. Would like a less hilly course but the scenery was to DIE for!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try drinking some more, it was pretty cool so I didn't need much and didn't feel dehydrated after the race!
Post race
Warm down:

Had to walk back past second beach to the car and it was cold and windy so I was shivering pretty good and it caused my muscles to seize up a bit, I was quite glad to be done!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I believe wearing my fuel belt until mi. 9 was a mistake due to It causing my lower back to just kill! I felt as though some one had hit me with a large bat across the lower back. I threw it to Shannon at mi.16 ish. That gave me some relief. I carried one 4oz. bottle of Hammer's heed from there on an sipped on it until the finish!

Massage this week!

Event comments:

Beautiful course the scenery was gorgeous and I ran with John until after the half way mark then he slowly pulled away as the hills really got me and I had to walk some which really made me mad at myself! My family and friends popped out on the course 5 or more times which was great to keep seeing them and they had made signs and placed them throughout the end of the course! Great support!

My 12yr. old son popped out at 20.5 and ran the last 6. with me he was great, he has blisters on both feet but never complained!
