Swim
Comments: Despite efforts to stay wide and avoid bodies, still had some anxiety in first 150 yds as other guys bumped into me from slides and behind. After 200 found a good stroke and settled down. Passed about 20 guys after that point. What would you do differently?: Go further outside at start. Continue to work on stroke Transition 1
Comments: Should have just jumped on moving bike. Shoes slipped out of clips when stepping in. What would you do differently?: Use rubber bands to hold right pedal back. Practice jumping on bike or learn how to put shoes on when riding. Bike
Comments: Felt strong on bike from last weekends 72 miler. Passed dozens of people many of whom don't like to stay to the right. What would you do differently?: Mount and dismount more cleanly. Transition 2
Comments: My position on bike rack was taken by another. Had to shift down 3 spots to find room. Sat down to switch shoes. Run
What would you do differently?: Not wear a top, too hot. Drop 5 more pounds. Practice more trail running. Post race
Warm down: Walked 3 minutes, drank water, sat down for 10. What limited your ability to perform faster: Marginal quality of swim stroke is too slow. Better trail running conditioning. Event comments: This is a very well run event. I would definetly do again if it wasn't 2 hours away from home. Last updated: 2009-03-29 12:00 AM
