  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: I've done mostly multirace tris, and they're a good, organized group of folks. the post race usually is average to sub, but that's not why I race, so it's not a huge deal. I thought it was a great course, and was just thankful I didn't have to do the bike!!! We beat the nearest coed relay by 11 minutes, AND the men's relay by a few minutes!! I will def. do this race again next year, just have to decide if I want to do it solo or relay again. Relay is awfully fun!

  • Comments: I like this race, this time of the year they had more competitors and the T1 setup was friendlier to Half-Iron man competitors. It seems that soon they will outgrow the park :) Thanks to all the volunteers and the police officers patrolling the streets. Thank you! The day before the race I stayed in Miami with Jael and her friend Charo. I met Jael in a Racheal Wood's triathlon group training. I have no words to express my gratitude for making my race so much fun. Charo was such a great friend! She woke up at 4:30am and helped us, taking plenty pictures and cheering us up. My friends? They had a party the day before I am sure they were hangover :) Also, big thanks to Racheal. Her group trainings were such a success! She was there for her trainees, she called Jael the nigh before to check on her and give her last minute tips. She really cares for the athletes she coaches.

  • Comments: Aside from 2 incidents with some nasty volunteers (1 involving Martha and Mari and the other involving me) the race was great. Volunteers (with the exception of the 2 mentioned hereinabove) were awesome. Everyone was friendly and the race atmospherre lasted from 5AM all the way through 3PM when we left the site. Ran into many old friends and new friends. They are listed in no particular order: Sue from BT- Congrats Sue on your race and thanks for being friendly and hospitable. I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to seeing you again at St. A's. Also, thanks for putting "BT" on my calf. I got asked over 20 times what it stood for. I assume we will have some new members shortly. Jessie from BT- Also Congrats and thanks for being nice. You rock with a 3rd place finish. I also look forward to seeing you again at St. A's. Janelle- Congrats and nice to have met you. Janice Olson- You rock for driving down 2 days in a row to hang out yesterday and to work for free today.
