  • Comments: Overall this is a great race. I have done it 3 times (first since it moved to Rockwall). Always good support and lots of volunteers. The first weekend of October is always hit or miss with the weather it seems. Could be anywhere from 40-90 degrees on race day.

  • Comments: This is the Dallas area's biggest triathlon and always great to have that big-race atmosphere. It brings out a lot of the 'fast people' (since it's a good time to compare to the Pros - some of whom were Olympians!). Even though the Oly distance is not my best distance - I have used this race to cap off my first 3 triathlon seasons!

  • Comments: I was 2nd overall although many of the top M50-54 competitors from last year were not there. This is by far the best organized race in DFW. More fan support then any other, Pros are there, venue is awesome. What more can you say.

  • Comments: Beautiful location and beautiful weather. Plenty of volunteers. Too many lane changes were not clearly marked. Awards started before my age group finished. Had to go ask for my award. Race did not seem as amateur friendly as all of the others I have been to, but I guess it was a "pro" race.

  • Comments: This race was well done, and the volunteers were awesome! It was different than others I've done...more geared to the pro's, corporate sponsors, etc., which is understandable. But that also took a little away from the fun vibe that I get from most tri's. Great job by the RD on dealing with the last minute construction issues and marking the bad spots on the bike course.

  • Comments: Fun race. Picked this one because of the date and the fact that it was going to be a more challenging course than what I've raced on before. Race weather was ideal. Could have pushed it a little harder on the run but if we all were completely satisfied we wouldn't have to race anymore!

  • Comments: This continues to be my favorite DFW area race. It's just a different level of event with the international pros being part of it. I'd do this again next year even though the International distance is not my strong point because of the relatively long swim compared to the bike/run.

  • Comments: This race was exactly what I needed. I was simply looking for a nice race that would have plenty of fan-fare. There was always something going on!!! Personally, I've been training like a surfer these past 3 months(meaning, I just go out and get dirty, hit the pavement, splash in the lake, etc...) so there hasn't been much "formal" training. So Im' not surprised my splits were a little off. However...my take it easy approach made this one of the most fun event's I've done in a really long time. I think I'll make this my "no pressure" race from here on out :)

  • Comments: I LOVED the new location. The Harbor is a beautiful location and is very spectator friendly. The course is challenging but very rewarding. The race was well run, well staffed, and the police did a great job directing traffic. I noticed some heavy traffic at some points and the cyclists had free reign. Seeing the pros and elite amateurs race was really cool and seeing them get their awards just adds to a terrific environment. I can't recommend this race enough.

  • Comments: So day before and all week I ate great. I had 3 32 gatoraide low cals and 32 oz water the day before from noon. 66 ish of fluids day of. I did pee 5 times before the race. I do notice my hr before the race is high 105-110 the whole time. I had 24 oz of fluid on the bike and a small cup water at all aid stations. I cant fathom how I was dehydrated. After the race pee was super bright glowing yellow so I know I was. It wasnt hot and I really didnt feel sweaty or hot on the bike. I need to figure something out. I did have fun. I felt like crap the rest of the day. Got home took a hot shower and was cold laying on the couch. On a high note I did PR my 2nd oly dist race lol. Beat last year by 4 min. So there is my little ray of sunshine.

  • Comments: This was my first big race and it was well put-together. Lots of on-course volunteers and everything flowed smoothly. From the moment I checked in to get body-marked, to the transition set-ups (every position on the rack was numbered), and all through the race (great signs, volunteers), it was great! It was a hard course but I'm glad that I got a chance to do my first Olympic-distance race at a first-rate event like this one. The nice weather didn't hurt either!

  • Comments: I'd rate this race higher if they were more organized on the shuttles & transition areas. For a group that preaches requirements - like having to attend the pre-race briefing - they were very lax about security at T1 & T2. I was walking in & out as I pleased and didn't have any of my race markings visible at all. Oh well, maybe they'll get it together next year. I'm not sure if I'll try it next year or not, given how early you have to get up for all the extra shuttling around.

  • Comments: Overall this was a good race. Had the weather been nice, I would have had a great time racing this course. Yes, it's a hassle to do a point to point race, but it's different. They did a good job of organizing it, minus the lack of shuttles to take racers to the start (hello- you need more buses!). They also needed some port-o-johns in T1. Otherwise, it was a good race.
