  • Comments: The best part of a race report is that it lets you reflect and evaluate what did and did not go well. Yesterday and today have been really hard as the numbers I was looking for did not materialize. That was really tough to swallow given all of the training I have put in. However, after replaying things in my mind, there are a lot more positives than negatives surrounding yesterday. First, I learned a ton and all of the "negatives" are easy to correct / the mistakes are part of the learning process. Second, I pulled the race off with no physical problem. My training has paid dividends in the area of health and that's why I started doing this. Third, while I made mistakes, I did not compound them / I adjusted to the challenges I was facing and got out of my body what I could given the conditions. Need to remember that in any event, there's somethings you can control and some you can not. You "play the hand you are dealt" and get out of it what you can. I played it well, had a good

  • Comments: While I've only done five triathlons, think this one may be my favorite to date. The organization was outstanding, folks were helpful, course was fair and reasonable. Only draw back was that the swim format took a long time to get everyone through. However, in exchange for that, you got a really great experience. Personally it was an "up and down" experience. During and immediately after the race I was very frustrated that things were not going well. However, after reflecting, it was another big step forward for me. I continue to learn how to listen to my body and take what it will give me. The cardio aspect of the sport is going great and the gains I am seeing are outstanding. The run is making huge strides with each race. On the swim and bike, I recognize that I'm going to "reap what I sow". For this race, I got out of them what I put in and still had enough in the tank for a solid run. And the swim was a PR in a race, just not up to expectations. I'll likely be back

  • Comments: It was awesome to be racing my teams home race and coming back to the very first race I ever did last year. I got a new race pr, swim pr, bike pr, and run pr and dropped 22 minutes off last years time. Can't wait to see what I can do next year.

  • Comments: Best Triathlon yet. Loved the DJ at the end announcing racers as they came across the finish line. Loved to see all of the T3 people there and my family as well. Cold towels were a welcomed suprise and food was great. Even some Starbucks coffee!! Took home a tube of "That Butt Stuff" and a $15 certificate to "Road ID". This event just furthered my love for the triathlon community and shows us all that training pays off when it counts.

  • Comments: I think James and T3am T3 did a great job. James did a great job as a race director. (considering it was his 1st year. I think they did well and made use of all the suggestions that were given to them for this race.

  • Comments: As I understand it, this is a second-year race. Organization was pretty good - lots of volunteers for the swim and the bike course and enough for the run (it's also easier to stage that leg). There were delicious sandwiches available at the end of the race - a good way to combat a (unavoidable) finish. The ice rags at the finish line were also a nice touch. The timing company (itsracetime.com) was INCREDIBLE! They had a cool blackberry thing to start everyone's time in the pool. No hang-ups there. The mats were great and the finish-line coordinator was EXCELLENT about posting updated times on his trailer. He must have re-printed those sheets about 10 times as more people kept finishing. Then he printed and posted final results (organized by AG) as they were announced. Finally, the results were posted online before I even got home! GREAT JOB!! The awards were a unique situation to me, but I will mention it anyway. First of all I am not racing to amass a lot of trophies. Just want to

  • Comments: Didn't get a chance to hang out. I had family in town to watch me race and I am leaving for Texas on Monday, so I wanted to spend some time with them. Was awesome to see everyone help out and step up - a lot of my volunteers were newbies to the sport and they had a blast!

  • Comments: This triathlon was the first in Tremont since the 90's. Gene Pflederer did an excellant job organizing the event and it was a HUGE success. Hope to see it grow more next year - think the rain scared a few folks off.
