  • Comments: It was a great race that I would do again at any time! Yes it's hot, yes it's a hilly course BUT great organization! great number of volunteers! great music and atmosphere! Tons of people cheering! Great expo! A chance to see some pros live! Great after event atmosphere, people stick around! Great facility - no lack of porto potties and even real and clean bathrooms! Awesome trophies! And afterall, I have been so scared to start at this race because everybody told me how super tough this race is and that it might not have been the smartest choice for ones 2nd triathlon ever, but really the sprint course is not that challenging and if you have trained and prepared yourself for the race it is a fun race that is not too challenging! I can highly recommend it!

  • Comments: This was a great well organized event. Lots of volunteers and the course was clearly marked. Finished dead in the middle of my age group so overall I am pretty happy but I know I can do better.

  • Comments: This was a very well-run race. From the volunteers, of which about 25 were from the Atl. Tri Club, to the post-race food and awards (nice trophy my wife got), everything seemed to go very smoothly. Gotta commend Set Up Events for running a good event. I'll definitely come back to race it again and hopefully be better prepared for the hills next time.

  • Comments: I really love this race. I like the location, the lake, the organization. I was slightly disappointed when I learned that the swim was long. I don't think it was due to their measuring, I think it was something about a buoy that we weren't supposed to go around, but everyone did. I have an email in to them asking if they at least could tell me the distance so I have a better idea of my performance. I think I paced everything just right. Even though it's only a sprint, there's still some need for pacing. It's a fine line between pacing yourself just enough, and pushing too hard that the other two suffer. I sometimes think, could I have swam faster, or biked faster. Probably, but this time, I don't think doing either faster would have been better. I think I would have hurt my bike or my run times which turmed out to be great for me. Had the swim actually had been 820 yards, my overall time would have been about 3 minutes under my goal time. So while I was not really close to an

  • Comments: I won my AG - There was one guy who went 3rd OA from 45-49M but other than him, it was a legit podium for me. I think I can get even better. I love sprints. You show up an hour before the race; Go hard; Go home. Many thanks to all the volunteers who stood around in that Middle Georgia heat so bums like me can race..Thanks.

  • Comments: This was a great race, although quite bittersweet. I had the family there this time, and really wanted a podium finish. I was away from the podium by a mere 3 minutes, which im sure you know how that feels to be so close. Now that I have done my second race, I think its about time to get more serious about this sport. I know this is what I want to do, there is no denying how I feel when I race. If this is something I care so much about, I need to make a better commitment to myself when it comes to training and eating properly. Maybe if I was doing that before the race, I would have made up that 3 minute difference that lost me a age group finish. This is only the beginning! Next time, the game will be much different!

  • Comments: The only thing that was too difficult was the bike course for me. Slightly more hills than I was ready for. Overall a great race. Lots of volunteers and very well organized. All the people were awesome. Everyone I talked to throughout the day was so encouraging, even those who were behind me. I'd definitely like to do it again next year, and hopefully my legs will be a little stronger by then. I'm failry pleased overall. I did meet my next goal which was to finish the race and not be last.
