  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The events weren't on time, but it was out of the RD's hands, given that there was a super thick layer of fog that morning. Shuttle bus to T1 also got stuck in the mud, so it was likely the event wouldn't have been able to start on time anyway, but again, not really the RD's fault. I can't speak to post race activities, as they were all closed up by the time I got there at 4:30 (race delayed by over an hour and the catered food/drink trucks were only contracted until 4:30 cutoff). Overall, this is an okay race that has potential to be great with a few more years to work out the kinks (this is only year two).

  • Comments: Even though I didn't finish the race, it feels like it was a good race. The swim started on time (which is the first time I've been part of a RMR productions race that started on time). There were tons of very enthusiastic volunteers on the bike course. One drawback, especially if you are doing the intermediate race, is that they close the park entrance/exit for five hours (9am-1:30pm). By the time I got back to the finish area, there were people lined up to get out (and some were pretty angry). Post-race food sucked (granola bars, pringles, water).
