Trainer ride for me today. Previewing a "Criterium Race Day" DVD that came with my trainer...it looks rather intense and not for a newb! Oh well, riding on the trainer to preview a DVD is better than just sitting on the couch, right?

Happy Sunday, everyone.

An unusually warm Dec. day, so went out for a hilly 9.4 mile run. Drinking a refreshing Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest for recovery right now. AAAAHHHHH!!!

I decided to HTFU and do my 10 miles outside after all, even though I hate running in the wind we get here. It was slow and there were times I was ready to quit, but got 'er done!

The plan was to run down to watch friends in a local tri.  15km run.  However this dose of labyrinthitis has knocked me for six.  I've done nothing since Thursday!!!!  I attempted to run from my car to the tri - about 500m, nearly fell over.

So taking it easy still.  I figure I'll get on the drainer, I'm clipped in shouldnt do too much damage - I'll wear my helmet!

I love it!  Weird I know, but it's the best bang for my buck on that trainer!

Ran 4 miles today.  Had to enjoy the 65 degree December weather while it lasts.

13.1 mile tempo run (we won't call it a race, due to circumstances) around Angkor Wat. Just wasn't feeling up to racing--my back and hamstrings have been extremely tight for several weeks and any kind of speedwork has been almost impossible. Maybe new shoes, sleeping on one side and/or too much treadmill running due to arm injury.  Took my camera, did tempo pace from site to site (which was more like slow tempo for the last 5 km), stopped and took pictures. Beautiful day but very hot. Will try to post some pics later--beautiful run for several worthy causes.

Normally early Sunday mornings with no traffic I like to take the bike out, ride, stash the bike and then run. Yesterday woke up to -3 C and swapped the outdoor ride for an indoor spin of 45 mins. Following that, layered up for a 7K run. With the cold I have a tendency to start too 'fast' for my own good. I was inspired my a guy I saw early in the run plodding at a nice slow pace, and was able to slow mine down to tortoise level that was so enjoyable I extended the run by an additional 2k.
