Giro Air Attack - any users?

I bought one a few months ago. Have done two triathlons with it. I bought the visor with it after reading reviews. I feel like the magnets with the visor work well. If I had to do it again, I would definitely buy it again, and I would get it with the visor. It looks pretty cool too - I get lots of complements on it.

I'm happy with mine. I've used it in several road races and crits. I imagine it would be fine an a TT or Tri too. Not as aero as a true TT helmet, but better than a standard road helmet. In truth, probably similar to a Syton. I got the visor, though I don't always use it. If I used the helmet in a TT or Tri I would use the visor for sure. I like it, but it's not as dark as my sunglasses. One of my training partners has the non-visor option and regrets not getting the visor.

I'm hoping to get one in for my birthday (sadly out of tri season) but my only worry is the weird tan lines you'd get from the visor, but it looks cool.

I just ordered one this morning from Nashbar, they had a 21% off any single item sale so I went for it. After much deliberation, I went for the visor option, but I'll probably only use it for Tri's. "Normal" road rides I'll use my sunglasses.

Fingers crossed.....it gets hot here in S. Fla., but I read a bunch of online reviews from riders in hot areas that said it worked OK in hot climates.

Been using one for about 6 months and like it a lot. No issue with heat but in the Northeast most of our races are in pretty cool temps. I did not get the visor and do not want the uncertainty of something breaking while racing. Keep it simple, just use sunglasses

I am happy with mine. I have the Air Attack Shield. The visor fits nicely over my glasses. I debate weather to wear my cycling prescription glasses without the shield, or my regular glasses without the shield. Having the options is nice.

One thing I noticed in races, which helped me decide, was seeing all the folks riding in aero helmets with the tail sticking way up in the air, especially if they are pushing it with their head down. With the air attack, I get a good aero compromise without the risk of killing the aero by sticking the tail up in the air. Made sense to me.

It fits nice too.

I have the black shield and used it about 7-8 times last year. I'm actually thinking of selling it as I just bought a new LG P-09. It's a black and red medium. PM if your interested. You can check my gear out and I'm pretty sure I wrote a review on it.

Got mine, with visor before IMFL this past fall. Reallly, really like this helmet. I have not had any issue with the visor falling off. Since I have prescription glasses, makes life a lot easier - used to have to mess with switching for prescription sunglasses. I wear it routinely on training rides.

BigDaddy, if my melon was smaller I'd be all over your offer, unfortunately a medium would fit me like a yarmulke.

I got one this year and like it. I have the visor version. I use it some and without some. Just did a 70.3 and an Oly in it and I really like it. More aero than a normal bike helmet, but with ventilation (i'm in FLA and ventilation is a must). Great reviews online as well. I think it's a good balance between traditional and aero.

I'm been considering one myself, and rode with an acquaintance who has one with the visor this past weekend. His only complaint about the visor is that when it's hot and he drops his head, his sweat drips right onto the inside of the visor, and then he has to deal with looking through sweat drips

No problems wearing it in the heat. I wear it with the visor on the tri bike and with sun glasses on the road bike. I think it's quite a bit more comfortable than my old Ionos and I have a lot easier time seeing through the sweaty visor than I do through sweaty sunglasses. The extra inch or two away from my eyes makes a big difference for me.

The harness of these helmets hold the helmet off my head more than my other giro helmets did, so the vents create a nice draft between the inside of the helmet and your head. If you wear the shield in the "up" position instead of the way it's intended, it'll block a lot of this air flow and the helmet will be noticeably hotter. I also tape the vents over in the winter when it's cold.

I'd recommend the shield model if you're not scared off by the extra $$$.
