Inaugural Knoxville 1/2 Marathon - Run

Comments: My first Half-Marathon. All i wanted to do was finish & in a respectable time. I did it. Learnt a number of valuable lessons. What would you do differently?: I would practice running hills & also like to do some speed work. My abs & lower back hurt afterward, so maybe some more core training. I just started pilates 4 weeks ago and i think it helped. I'd run races where there are more people so i can get additional boost from the crowd. Post race
Warm down: I just walked to the feeding area & ate. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of experienc. my diet needs to improve but i'm not sure how i can accomodate that. Event comments: Pro's: 1. Good organization, nice volunteers. Con's: 1. Easy to fix: Do not give CYTOMAX at the water stations. That stuff is horrible. please give gatorade or something. 2. Better Food after the race. Hard to fix: Make course flatter. its a little to hilly! Last updated: 2005-02-18 12:00 AM

Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 79/86
Drank 1.5 cups of coffee & ate a banana.
Race was at 7:00 AM. Arrived at venue at 6:00 & walked around to warm up. The did some stretching.
