Swim
Comments: Went reasonably smooth. A couple of bumps along the way. Maintained stoke and sighted fairly well, found myself off course slightly a couple of times. Paced myself fairly well but could have gone harder. What would you do differently?: Could have gone a little harder overall. After passing the last bouy I realized I had lots in the tank and picked it up a notch but probbly could have maintained that finishing push throughout the race Transition 1
Comments: Went smooth and quickly I thought. T1 time included in swim time. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Went without my GPS unit that I use for pacing as the battery indicator said it was dead! Must have accidentily hit the power button or something as it "was" fully charged! I can go great guns on the straight aways and slight up and down hills but going up large steep hills sucks the life out of me. Had a little trouble with shifting. Overall performance was down from my usual 33-35 kph pace What would you do differently?: Need to practice hills more! Transition 2
Comments: Went smooth and quickly I thought T2 included in bike time What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: Had nothing left in the tank. As soon as I got off my bike I knew I was in trouble. Second loop was better than the first but did lots of walk run segments just to get through the course What would you do differently?: Hard to say here as the previous nights "cleaning out" episode drained me physically and left me dehydrated Post race
Warm down: Just walked and did some light stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: I was ill the evening prior to the race. Something I ate didn't sit well and ended up with diarrhea and stomach cramping. My system was totally drained. Last updated: 2013-04-29 12:00 AM
