What should someone eat at night after a hard workout?

I'm confused, because I usually eat a huge meal at like 9 or 10pm, which is terrible.

But, I get really hungry after working out after work.

Any suggestions?

I work from 9am-6pm after my work is some of my hardest workouts. Mainly at night my workouts are swim, swim/brick or a long run. I take food to work and will eat before I leave and hour or so. I’ll get done with my nightly workouts around 9’ish. I usually will eat high in protein 40 grams or so. Consisting of a whey or rice protein drink, or a protein bar with a half of dozen egg whites and maybe a piece of fruit. Always lots of water.

I end up eating dinner at 9 or so most nights as well.  I try to eat a Clif bar or fruit or something about an hour before my workout, and then when I get home I try to have something high in protein (lean meat), water of course, and usually some fruit when I am still hungry.  I make sure to eat plenty of food throughout the day so I am not completely ravenous.
