So we all know what we wear at the triathlon. But what kind of shorts do we wear when just out on a long ride? Any particular brand the most comfortable? The most affordable? I have my tri shorts and wear them all the time, but for my longer bike rides I'm beginning to think I want a bigger chamois.

Performance Bike has great cycling shorts. They are a lot cheaper than to purchase at the bike store. The website is:

Good luck!

I agree with the Performance recommendation. I have a pair of Garneau bike shorts that were $75. I just received Performance's "Elite Lite" short (about $35) - rode in them last nite, couldn't tell $40 worth of difference. Plus the people at Performance were very knowledgeable and helpful with my questions. Obviously can't speak to how long they'll last but they were very comfortable.
