Subject: Bench Marks
Have Ironman Arizona in 4 months. Where should I be in my training? What are some tangible benchmarks/distances I should be at this time?

Thanks for the response. Have been training and sometimes feel like I am going nowhere. As mentioned, I can run 13 miles, swim for over an hour, and ride 50+ miles. Key is getting them together. Hahaha

What you describe is an ok benchmark for an upcoming HIM, an IM not so sure.  You still have some time though and if it was me I'd be getting some long rides in each week so that "50+" becomes "100+".  A strong bike leg will dictate to a great extent your ability to run.  If the bike isn't there it's pretty tough to put down any kind of run.

You should be following some type of plan and not just decide out of no where to increase miles unless you know what you're doing for rest week, rest days, long days, and interval days. 4 months ago (my first IM is next week), my longest ride was 3:30 (on the trainer...uggg) and my longest run was only 1:15. I mixed in a marathon in my plan, so my actual longest run was 19 miles at that time. I think I could have done a HIM then but I don't think I was mentally ready and it wouldn't have been that great. Are you following a plan right now? How far are your long rides/run at this time?
